The City Clerk is the local official who administers democratic processes such as elections, access to City records, and all legislative actions, ensuring transparency to the public. We are committed to excellent customer service, easy access to public records, facilitating the political will of the community, and helping residents be informed and involved in their government.

Christy Jakl, City Clerk 

Christy Jakl has been serving the citizens of San Juan Capistrano for over 20 years. She was appointed for the position of City Clerk in May 2024. She earned her Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation with the International Institute of Municipal Clerks in 2010. Christy earned her Bachelor’s degree from Johnson and Wales University and regularly attends professional training and workshops to keep current of new legislation related to elections, campaign financing, public records requests and records management.
